Need more warmth and less rear end impact
For those that haven’t seen, my car was in a minor rear end collision !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
I got an estimate this morning and it’s right about what I expected. $1400 and change. Parts being replaced are the Bumper Cover, low end valence (or spoiler in VW terms) and a new Tow hook cap. 2-3 days downtime.
Could be a lot worse, so I can’t complain too much. I turned it in and decided to just let Erie go after the guy for my deductible. I feel it’ s safer than me trying to recoup money from a convicted felon .
Fun times! It’ll be interesting to see what rental car roulette gets me, maybe I’ll do a review if it’s terrible/interesting. We’ll see. Cheers!

Can we get a follow up once the insurance fails at getting money from the guy and how that is going?

Yeah trust me I don’t expect to get it, but I would put money on the guy not getting it to me either way. An expensive lesson to call the boys in blue next time.

My Mk7 was rear ended, cost was a bit higher but they had to replace some bumper supports and sensors. Do you have the blind spot monitors? The biggest pain was that they need to be coded to the car; even though I explained in detail to the service desk jockey (actually two different guys at two dealerships) what needed to be done, they still scheduled AND DID the wrong programming.

Thankfully I don’t have any of that stuff on mind, it’s just a simple bumbled replacement and some components beneath it. That’s sounds like the VW dealership experience! Over priced incompetence lol
